Refund policy

Our Commitment At O'Mahony Craft Cooperage, every barrel, cask and piece is crafted to the highest standard at our Cooperage in Cork, Ireland. We stand behind the quality of our work.

Change of Mind We do not accept returns or offer refunds where you have simply changed your mind. As our products are handcrafted to order, we are unable to accept returns on this basis.

Order Cancellations As all of our pieces are handcrafted to order, we are unable to accept cancellations once an order has been placed and production has commenced. If you wish to cancel an order, please contact us immediately at contact@omcc.ie. We will do our best to accommodate cancellation requests made before work has begun, however this cannot be guaranteed.

Your Statutory Rights Under the EU Sale of Goods Directive and Irish Consumer Law, you are entitled to a remedy if a product is faulty, not as described, or not fit for purpose. These statutory rights are not affected by this policy.

As all of our barrels, casks, and coopered pieces are individually handcrafted, minor variations in grain pattern, colour, texture, and finish compared to product photographs are an inherent characteristic of hand craftsmanship and are to be expected. Such natural variations do not constitute grounds for a "not as described" claim and are not eligible for return or refund.

Faulty or Defective Products Structural or functional faults — such as leaking beyond the initial swelling period, cracked staves, or hardware failure — are considered genuine manufacturing defects and are distinct from the natural variation described above.

If your product arrives with a genuine structural or functional defect, please contact us within 30 days of receipt at contact@omcc.ie with a description and photographs of the issue. We will assess the item and offer, at our discretion, either a repair or replacement at no cost to you. Where a return is required, we will cover the cost of return shipping.

Barrels and casks require an initial swelling and seasoning period. Minor seepage during this period is normal and does not constitute a defect. Guidance on the swelling and seasoning process is available on request.

Damaged in Transit If your order arrives visibly damaged, please photograph the packaging and item immediately upon receipt and contact us within 48 hours at contact@omcc.ie. We will raise a claim with the courier on your behalf and arrange a repair or replacement as appropriate. Claims reported outside of this window may not be accepted by the courier, which may limit our ability to offer a remedy.

Lost in Transit If your order has not arrived within the expected delivery timeframe, please contact us at contact@omcc.ie. We will investigate with the courier and, where the order is confirmed lost, arrange a replacement or issue a refund at our discretion. We are unable to investigate lost orders reported more than 60 days after the dispatch date.

Damage Due to Improper Use or Care If a product is returned and inspection reveals the fault is attributable to improper use, neglect, or failure to follow our care instructions, we will assess the item and provide a repair quote. In such cases:

• Repair is offered at the customer's expense
• The customer is responsible for all shipping costs, both to and from our Cooperage
• We will provide a quote before any repair work is carried out

How to Request a Return To initiate a return, please contact us at contact@omcc.ie before sending any item back. Items returned without prior authorisation will not be accepted.

Force Majeure & Shipping Delays O'Mahony Craft Cooperage is not liable for delays in production or delivery caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to courier delays, customs processing, extreme weather, industrial action, or other events of force majeure. In such cases, we will endeavour to keep you informed and fulfil your order as soon as reasonably practicable.

Governing Law This policy is governed by the laws of the Republic of Ireland. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts.
